The Law Office of Andrew K. Cuddy works cooperatively with medical professionals, educators, service providers and parents in advocating for appropriate educational services for children with disabilities, pursuant to:
- The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (I.D.E.A.),
- The New York State Commissioner of Education, Parts 200 & 201,
- The Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973,
- The Americans with Disabilities Act,
- and other NYS and Federal laws.
The Law Office of Andrew Cuddy is also involved with:
- Representing parents and guardians in due process hearings in order to ensure a child with disabilities receives a free
appropriate public education (FAPE).
- Representing students in disciplinary proceedings in the public schools.
- Educating parents and guardians regarding their rights and the rights of their children.
- Assisting parents and guardians in filing complaints with the New York State Education Department.
- Providing instruction to educators medical professionals and social service personnel about the rights of students with disabilities and responsibilities of public schools towards these children.
